Fred Wood

Dr. Fred Wood is an internationally recognized expert on early childhood and youth development who has worked extensively on meeting the needs of marginal communities in the developing world through private means and community development in low-income countries.

Dr. Wood served for more than a decade as Deputy Executive Director and Director of Programs at the Bernard van Leer Foundation in The Hague, and as Director of Education at Save the Children US. Before joining Save the Children, Dr. Wood was a Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School. He received his Ph.D. from the University of London.
